News articles should be 500 words in length, more or less. In that balllpart range. People stories the same length, more or less, as well. And features can be longer.
The 500 word articles pay $50 per article, and short articles, which are usually 150 to 250 words, pay $25.00.
Get into writing about insurance claims topics. Need journalistic skills.
