Santa Ana Unified is a self-insured, self-administered employer seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Claims Assistant. This position is titled as a Risk Management Technician and will only handle duties related to workers’ compensation.
Salary: $4,245-$5,421 monthly

Description of duties and responsibilities:
Under direct supervision perform general benefit technician and claim assistant duties as assigned. Complete 3-point contacts on new claims in order to obtain information necessary to make a compensability decision on a claim. Receive and prepare reports of work related injuries or illnesses. Notify employee of disability entitlements and benefits under State and District regulations. Serve as contact person with injured employee(s), physicians and employee supervisors to obtain and provide information on the employee’s status. Assign and maintain reports of injured employees participating in the Return to Work Program.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Terminology and practices of medical treatment.
Applicable sections of State Education Code.
Technical aspects of workers’ compensation administration.
Education and Experience:
Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and two years of college course work in business or social science or related field two years of responsible technical work involving public contact.
